| Levelling agent to cover barriness on polyamide dyeing |
| |
Barrie has often posed problems in the dyeing of polyamide filament material. Barrie is
caused by both the physical and chemical factors, such as variation in stretch, twist, luster,
or variation in the end amino group content. (Disperse dyes can adequately cover barrie but
have poor wet fastness properties than acid can 1:2 metal complex dyes.)
FINYLON NHI Liquid in conjunction with FINYLON IPA 66 Liquid covers barriness
effectively in the dyeing of polyamide with Nylosans and Lanasyns. |

Dyeing with Nylosan colours – FINYLON NHI Process |
| |

| |
Set the dye bath at 500C with |

Work the material for 10 minutes for equalizing the pH and add the dissolved dyestuff.
Raise the temperature to the boil in 20 minutes and dye at boil for 60 – 90 minutes. Then cool
to 800C & rinse. |
| |
|
| |
This method is most useful in dyeing with Nylosan N and F dyestuffs. For Nylosan E dyes
pH should be kept 5 for dyeing. |
| |
|
| |
*higher amounts for lighter shade & vice versa
+ higher amounts for more Barrie material. |
| |
|
| 2. |
Dyeing with Lanaysyn dyes at higher temperatures |
| |
|
| |
In this case the pretreatment with FINYLON IPA 66 is carried out as mentioned above.
After cooling the bath at 600C and adjusting the pH to 6 with liquor ammonia. |
| |
|
| |
|
2 – 4% FINYLON NHI Liquid |
| |
|
| |
is added & the liquor circulated for 10 minutes before addition of the dissolved dyestuff.
Then the temperature is raised to 115 - 120ºC in 45 minutes and dyed for 60 minutes.
The bath is then cooled to 800C followed by rinsing. |
| |
|
| |
This method is also suitable for dyeing with Nylosan N dyestuff which also have higher
wet fastness. |

Optimises reproductibility of results: No adverse effect on dye dispersion hence no dye
agglomeration & no quality problems with stains and specks. Dyed shades are level
and more even appearance of goods. |
| |
|
|
Very good dispersing effect on disperse dyes: Additional use of dispersing agent is not
necessary. |
| |
|
|
Has minimum or no retarding effect: Best dye yield and high reproducibility
of results because the levelling of dyed shades occur through synchronization & migration. |
| |
|
|
| Dyeing Process Process: Usual HT Dyeing Process process at 1300C for 30 – 45 min |
