FINOSOL EM finishes are generally applied by padding. They may, however, also be applied on the winch, the jig, the vat or by spraying on to the goods. In high concentrations, or in combination with products of high viscosity, the squeegee may be used. |
| |
The Solution should be stirred from time to time since FINOSOL EM tends to settle out. |
| |
FINOSOL EM can also be used in permanent Finishing Process and together with various water proofing agents. As the composition of these agents vary, preliminary experiments to test their compatibility with FINOSOL EM should be carried out. The product can also be applied in neutral or slightly alkaline solutions, however, slight acidic is preferable. |
| |
After the Finishing Process process has been completed, the machines used must be cleaned immediately with water or otherwise. Because of the high adhesive power of FINOSOL EM intensive mechanical cleaning will be necessary. |
| |
The drying temperature should not be below 80 oC. The stiffness of the finished goods and their fastness to wash improve as the drying temperature increases. Drying is preferably carried out on the stenter. |
| |
While working on a cylinder drying machine, cars must be taken that the materials is well squeezed out before drying and that the first cylinders are wrapped with cloth. The temperature |
| |
| for calendering should not exceed 60 oC otherwise the product, because of its thermoplasticity, might be deposited on the calender rollers |
| |
| |
The required concentration depends on the materials in question, the handle desired and the squeezing effect. The Finishing Process effect can be varied by combining the product with other Finishing Process agents or softners. The following receipies could be taken as guidelines. |

1. |
